Belleville Police report they were called to an east end city school by school officials for a safety concern. Due to initial information provided, area schools were put in “Hold and Secure “until police and school officials could investigate.
After investigation it was determined there were no safety concerns and the “Hold and Secure” was lifted. There are no ongoing safety risks to students at the area schools or the public.
A number of schools in east end Belleville are currently placed in a hold and secure situation. Harry J. Clarke PS, Eastside Secondary School, Queen Elizabeth PS, Nicholson Catholic College, St. Joseph’s and St. Michael’s are all affected. A tweet noted the hold and secure was due to a community concern. No further information has been released by either school board or the Belleville Police.
