The Progressive Conservative candidate hoping to replace Daryl Kramp as MPP of Hastings Lennox and Addington says he wants to continue Kramp’s legacy.
Ric Bresee, currently the mayor of Loyalist Township, appeared on the Lorne Brooker Show Thursday and says working with Kramp over the last four years has been an honour.
Bresee calls him a champion for the riding.
“And I want to continue that effort. To continue to work your municipal leadership. To continue to work with people all across the riding to ensure that the local unique nature, the needs are addressed. That I keep listening to all of our residents and carrying that voice.”
Bresee says his 20 years of experience in municipal politics would serve him well at Queen’s Park.
“Over these 22 years, I’ve worked with a lot of people, listened to a lot of people and that’s, to my mind, is the primary role of any representative of any government level is to continue to listen to the people and carry that voice.”
“It’s a really obvious statement to say that when we build a road, we’re hiring people, or the contractors are hiring people and those people then have good jobs. And those good jobs actually pay taxes. Which means that as you build the economy and make everyone more prosperous there is more money for those social services, for those hospitals, for the education system.”
