Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation President Karen Littlewood stopped in Belleville Thursday afternoon to endorse Bay of Quinte Riding Liberal candidate Emilie Leneveu in the upcoming provincial election.
Littlewood says Leneveu is passionate about many causes including essential public services and advocates for improved mental health access.
“And importantly, she’s a defender of public education and a supporter of our education platform which is our vision for the future of Ontario’s publicly funded education system.”
Leneveu says as someone who went through the public education system, she understands how important one-on-one, hands on learning is.
“That’s why I’m so excited that the Ontario Liberal Party plan has a plan to cap class sizes at 20, whether that be elementary or secondary schools. We also are looking to invest in 5,000 new special education workers which represents more than one worker per school.”
Littlewood has been on a presidential tour endorsing several candidates of various parties throughout the province.
