UPDATE: Highway 401 fully reopened around 1:15 p.m. following the removal of the jack-knifed truck.
A jack-knifed tractor trailer snarled traffic just before noon on the westbound 401.
Both lanes between Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and Aikins Road were closed by Quinte West OPP while awaiting a tow truck to clear the road.
Traffic is currently being detoured around the collision but the road will require a closure once a tow truck arrives.
Vehicles should use the Emergency Detour Route at or prior to Wallbridge-Loyalist Road to avoid westbound delays.
