(Belleville Senators head coach Troy Mann ponders a question during a news conference at CAA Arena on Monday.)
The Belleville Senators will make their Calder Cup playoff debut tomorrow (Wednesday) night when they travel to Rochester, New York to play the Americans.
Despite having so-called home ice advantage the B-Sens will open the best of three series on the road, then come home for game two Friday night and game three Sunday afternoon if necessary.
Belleville was 5-2-1 against the Amerks during the regular season but six of the games were decided by one goal with three in overtime.
Following a pre-playoff press conference in Belleville Monday afternoon, Coach Troy Mann spoke to Quinte Broadcasting Sports Director and play-by-play voice Jack Miller. He doesn’t anticipate many changes ahead of game one.
Mann’s concern over Rochester’s power play is palpable. The Amerks had a league best 23.5% conversion rate with the man advantage. They were 12 of 46 for a 26.1% rate against Belleville.
Game two will be played at the CAA Arena Friday night at 7:05 with game three if necessary on Sunday afternoon at 3:05. All games can be heard on 800 CJBQ and cjbq.com.
