The Mayor of Belleville Mitch Panciuk has declared today (Thursday) Daryl Kramp Day in the city.
The popular Kramp is retiring from a long political career after the provincial election in June.
He was first elected to the federal parliament 18 years ago in 2004 and held the seat for the Conservative Party of Canada until being defeated in the 2015 election.
In 2016 he ran for the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party and won in Hastings-Lennox and Addington riding.
His daughter Shelby Kramp-Neuman is now serving federally as the Conservative member in Hastings-Lennox and Addington.
A celebration in honour of Daryl Kramp will be held Thursday night (April 21) from 6 until 9 at the Kiwanis Centre in Madoc.
Everyone is welcome.
