The Downtown District Business Improvement Area has received a financial boost from the provincial government.
In Belleville’s downtown Thursday morning, Bay of Quinte riding MPP and Minister of Energy Todd Smith announced a provincial grant of almost $15,000 for the organization.
With that funding the BIA will be able to enhance its popular summer event series in the district by adding picnic tables, umbrellas, planters, and a giant Adirondack chair.
Money is also coming from the BIA itself and the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board, bringing the amount available for improvements to around $48,000.
