There is still no sign of a Piper Comanche aircraft missing since Thursday night in the vast area between Lake Erie and Lake Superior.
8 Wing Trenton’s Joint Rescue Coordination Centre is heading up the search for the plane, which was carrying a pilot and passenger.
Various agencies are involved, including helicopters and Hercules aircraft from 424 Squadron, the Canadian Coast Guard, OPP, and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association.
The majority of the personnel and aircraft are concentrating the search not far north of Sault Ste. Marie, which was the last known position of the plane.
The aircraft’s official flight plan showed it was to fly from Delhi to Marathon, Ontario.
The search is said to be “complex and challenging” due to the terrain and days of poor weather conditions.
