“I really think we should follow suit here in Quinte West. Every little bit helps but standing behind the people of Ukraine is important and I really think that municipalities in Ontario and across Canada should follow suit with what Georgina is trying to do here.”
The City of Quinte West is getting set for four major summer/fall outdoor events this year.
Monday night, council gave its stamp of approval to four major events which will allow liquor licences to be issued by the province.
The first event, to be held at the amphitheatre July 2, is new and will be called Big Summer Concert.
The Empire Theatre will be involved in running the concert as well as the Hops on the Water Craft Beer Festival in October.
The other events are Quinte Ribfest in early August and the Quinte Celtic Festival, formerly known as the Trenton Scottish Irish Festival, later in the month.
