The Dukes win. The Golden Hawks lose. The result clinches first place for Wellington in the OJHL’s East Division.
David Campbell broke a 2-2 tie early in the third period to give the Dukes a 3-2 win over Haliburton County.
Jacob Vreugdenhill had two assists in the win which gives Wellington 75 points.
The Golden Hawks fell 3-1 to the Lindsay Muskies leaving Trenton in second place with 72 points.
The G-Hawks wrap up their regular season tonight (Mon) in Cobourg however there is nothing on the line.
Wellington will play the Cougars in the opening round of the Buckland Cup playoffs while Trenton is up against Haliburton County. The Huskies finished third, but just one point behind the G-Hawks. Playoff dates have not been announced yet.
