After a three month pause to let senior staff at Quinte Health Care deal with the Omicron surge, the strategic planning process is back underway.
Members of the QHC Board of Directors met virtually Tuesday afternoon and Gary Hannaford provided the board with an update into where they are in the process following a pause that began in mid-December.
“This has required some changes in our timing,” Hannaford told the board. “We are going to elongate the process just a bit and are now looking at a September launch.”
He said the strategic plan will look to address things like staffing shortages, patient volumes and other key elements.
“… what our five year goals should be, and refreshing the QHC brand to make sure that it is consistent with the strategic plan going forward.”
QHC President and CEO Stacey Daub said there is a lot of hope and optimism wrapped up in the process but there is critical work ahead of them to put it all together.
“I’m excited by it and I think the fall is the exact right time because it gives us an opportunity to really do this well and take our time, engage people through the process and launch at a time when, we hope and we think, it will be after the summer and is the right time.”
Daub says 1,800 people participated in what she called the “pollination phase” and 125 people participated in the “hive sessions.”
