Belleville police responded to 62 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5 a.m. on March 3, 2022 to 5 a.m. on March 4, 2022.
Unlawfully in a Dwelling House
On March 3, 2022 at 4 p.m., Belleville police received a call regarding the possibility of a male suspect hiding in a residence on Alder Court. Officers arrived on scene along with the police K9 unit. The residence was searched and a male who was not a resident of the home was located hiding in the basement of the house. A 38-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged for unlawfully being in a dwelling and was held for a show cause hearing scheduled for this morning March 4 at 11 a.m.
Prohibited Driving
On March 3, 2022 at 7:30 p.m., Belleville police conducted a traffic stop on Dundas Street West for the licence plates not being registered to the vehicle. The investigation further revealed that the male driver was prohibited from driving in Canada. The accused, 27-year-old Alexander Greystock-Wood of Bowmanville was charged with prohibited driving. He was released on his own recognizance and will appear in court on May 5, 2022. The suspect vehicle was impounded for 45 days and removed from the scene.
