Ontario’s police watchdog, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) will not lay charges against a Cobourg Police Constable after a man’s elbow was broken during an arrest last October.
Evidence showed that the 45-year-old suspect had his elbow broken when he was taken to the ground by an officer after he tried to escape arrest.
The director of the SIU says there was no evidence to suggest the force used by the Constable during the arrest was in any way unlawful.
