On January 19, 2022 shortly before 11:30 p.m. officers from the Bancroft OPP responded to a disturbance on New Carlow Road in Carlow – Mayo Township.
Investigation revealed the accused discharged a firearm at two individuals at the location. The victims were not struck or injured. The accused fled the area following the incident.
Bancroft OPP Crime Unit request the public’s assistance in locating the accused in relation to several criminal charges. .
On January 23, 2022 members of the Bancroft OPP and the OPP Emergency Response Team arrested the adult in the Bancroft area.
Konner Brewitt, a 25-year-old of Carlow – Mayo Township has been charged with the criminal offences of:
- Attempt to commit murder using a firearm – two counts
- Discharge firearm with intent – two counts
- Assault – two counts
- Pointing a firearm
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario on January 24, 2022 in relation to the criminal charges.
