A man from Brampton is facing many charges, following a dangerous driving incident Friday in Cobourg.
Officers responded to the area of Spring and Orange streets near Highway 2.
A car matching the description of the complainant was discovered in a parking lot, and when police approached, the driver sped off almost hitting an officer and hitting the cruiser.
The 23-year-old is charged with:
1. Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
2. Assault with a Weapon
3. Assault Police Officer
4. Mischief Not Exceeding $5,000
5. Possess Property Obtained by Crime Exceeding $5,000
6. Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine
7. Possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5000 x 3
8. Fail to comply with release order
9. Fail to comply with Probation x 2
