The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and resulting slowdowns and lockdowns has again caused a drop in the number of riders
on Belleville Transit buses.
In 2021 there were 561,349 riders on city buses, down from a little over 616,000 in 2020, an 8.9% drop.
In 2019 when COVID-19 was not a factor, Belleville Transit served just over 1.2 million riders, about double the number of users in the past two years.
