Belleville police responded to 72 calls for service between January 18, 2022 at 5 a.m. and January 19, 2022 at 5 a.m.
Domestic Assault
On January 19, 2022 at 6 p.m., Belleville police were called to a residence on Wallbridge Crescent regarding a domestic dispute. The female victim advised that her boyfriend had punched her in the face and slapped her across the back of the head multiple times. The boyfriend had left the residence prior to police arrival. He was located a short time later at a friend’s residence where he was taken into custody without incident. As a result, a twenty-four-year-old male was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault. He was held for a bail hearing on January 19, 2022. The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Stolen Dump Trailer
On January 18, 2022, Belleville police took a report of a stolen dump trailer. It was reported that sometime between January 14, 2022 and January 17, 2022, unknown person(s) entered a construction site located on Dundas Street West, and stole a dump trailer. The trailer is described as a 2012 4X12 – black MISKA construction grade dump trailer.
