Hastings Prince Edward Public Health, in a report including the weekend, reported 167 new high risk cases of COVID-19 Monday.
The number of active high risk infections is down slightly from Friday’s report to 1,357.
The actual number of infections in the community will be much higher as only high risk cases are being reported.
And the number of people being treated in hospital for COVID-19 is also up a bit, to 39, with eight of them being in the Intensive Care Unit.
The number of deaths caused by the coronavirus in Hastings-Prince Edward remains at 24.
To date 80% of Hastings-Prince Edward’s population has received two doses of a vaccine and more than 77,000 people have received a booster shot.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported 104 new cases in Northumberland on Monday.
There are 421 active cases.
