A transport truck driver has been charged with impaired driving after being pulled over in Quinte West.
OPP were called shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday for reports of a transport truck with no lights on that was not maintaining its lane in the westbound lanes on 401 near Aikins Road.
Officers found the truck west of Wooler Road and made a traffic stop.
Following a field sobriety test police determined the driver was impaired and as a result 42-year-old Heinrich Blatz, of Mexico, was charged with operation while impaired by drugs.
Blatz was also suspended from driving in Ontario for 90 days and the truck was impounded for a week.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in Belleville on February 3.
