Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting 158 new high risk cases of COVID-19 Friday along with one new death related to the virus.
The person who died was in the 70+ age category.
There are currently 1,375 active high risk cases as well as 24 active outbreaks, four of which are newly reported since Wednesday.
As of Friday there are 36 people in hospital with the virus locally including eight people in intensive care.
To date 87% of HPE residents five years old and over have had a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, 79% have had a second dose, and 43% have had a third dose.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reported 41 new cases in Northumberland Friday.
There are 524 active cases.
