Members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Friday January 7 shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Loyalist Parkway in Carrying Place when a vehicle was observed travelling at 114km/h in a posted 60km/h zone. A 17 year old driver was given a court date for stunt driving, had their licence suspended for 30 days and vehicle impounded for 14 days.
Later in the night, early morning on January 8, officers were on patrol on County Road 22 when a traffic stop was conducted. A 23 year old was charged for driving while suspended.
On Sunday January 9 shortly before 2:00 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on Picton Main Street and as a result, a 3 9 year old was charged for driving while under suspension. Shortly after 4:30 a.m., another vehicle was stopped on Picton Main Street and as a result, a 72 year old was charged for driving while under suspension.
On the same date, shortly after 4:00 a.m. an individual was found on Church Street Picton to be failing to comply with a release order. As a result, Christopher MCCALL, age 51 from Prince Edward County was arrested and charged with two counts of fail to comply with release order. The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 9, 2022.
