The Quinte West Fire Department was kept busy Sunday.
At 3 o’clock in the afternoon firefighters, paramedics, and OPP were called out to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Old Highway 2 and Wooler Road.
Fire Chief John Whalen says two people were taken to Trenton Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Meanwhile at around 6:30 firefighters were called out to a hydro pole fire on Highway 33 just north of 401.
That fire caused a widespread power outage affecting 7,500 homes and businesses in Quinte West, Brighton and Cramahe Township.
Hydro One had the power restored before 9 o’clock Sunday night.
