The President and CEO of Quinte Health Care is looking forward to 2022 and beyond for the hospital corporation.
Stacey Daub, who has been in the position a little more than a year expects the quality care already delivered by staff will only get better as they implement results of the QHC Re-imagine Campaign.
The hospital corporation is developing a clear vision, a set of priorities, and a strategy that will guide the organization for the next five years.
Daub says they connected with more than 1,800 people across the region during fall to figure out how to focus their efforts for the greatest impact.
“Common themes are all about care closer to home, about the power and partnership and how our region needs to work differently across health and social care, our municipal leaders really to be fierce advocates for the health and wellness of our community.”
And, while QHC may have more employees than it did in March 2019, the increased demand on the health care system during this pandemic means they are still experiencing shortages like many hospitals across the province.
Daub says one of their priorities in 2022 will be to renew their Health Human Resource Strategy.
“We’ve heard over and over again, you can’t take care of our patients if you don’t take of the people who are caring for our patients. We talked a lot as a team and a lot with our community about bringing compassion, humanity and caring for people, both the people who work at Quinte Health Care and the people we serve, together in a more powerful way going forward.”
She says the new strategy has really been co-designed by the whole community thanks to the Re-imagine Campaign QHC ran last year.
Daub calls the renewed sense of partnerships across the region’s communities inspiring.
