There is a winter weather travel advisory in effect for Saturday night into Sunday.
Snow is expected to develop over the area late this afternoon or evening. The snow will continue into Sunday with peak snowfall rates of 1 to 2 cm per hour possible.
Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible by the time the snow comes to an end Sunday afternoon.
Travel may be hazardous tonight and Sunday morning as untreated surfaces are expected to become snow covered and icy.
This snow is the result of a low pressure system passing south of Lake Erie Saturday night. There is still uncertainty regarding the track of this system. Should the low pressure system track farther south, the resulting snowfall amounts would be less.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
