Hastings Prince Edward Public Health is reporting 232 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday along with 40 new recoveries, leaving the active total at 840.
Of the new cases 138 are in people who are fully vaccinated, 50 are partially vaccinated and 44 are unvaccinated.
All regions under the HPE Public Health umbrella, except Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, listed over 10 cases with 96 in Belleville, 65 in Quinte West, 27 in Prince Edward County, 17 in Central Hastings, 14 in North Hastings, 11 in Tyendinaga and Deseronto and one on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
A majority of the new cases, 54, are found in people between 18 and 29 years old.
There are currently 13 people in hospital with the virus locally, including five in the Intensive Care Unit.
To date, 90% of HPE residents over 12 have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 85% have gotten two doses.

In Northumberland, there are 70 new cases of COVID-19 reported today by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit.
