Quinte Broadcasting is participating in a special fundraiser for the Belleville General Hospital Foundation this Friday.
CJBQ, Mix 97 and Rock 107 are among five local radio stations hosting the inaugural ‘Medithon’ raising money for the Regional Nuclear Medicine project.
The ‘Medithon’ runs from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.
The Lorne Brooker Show will be broadcasting live from the Belleville General Hospital Education Centre from 9-11 a.m.
Over the past two years, the BGHF has raised over $2 million for the project and needs to raise another $700,000 to reach their goal.
The project aims to replace the three aging cameras at Belleville Hospital with two new, high tech functioning cameras that will result in faster scanning times, decreased radiation exposure for patients, and increased patient volume.
The department sees over 8,000 patients annually and its diagnostics are relied on by various medical departments including Oncology, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgery and the Emergency Department.
To donate, call 613-961-5505 or text BGHF to 20222 or go to bghf.ca to donate and bid on their Virtual Auction where you can bid on over 80 items.
