Brighton council has made much discussed plans about increasing the affordable housing supply a reality.
At Monday’s meeting council officially passed a by-law which permits a maximum of two additional residential units on one property.
Only one apartment would be allowed inside of a single family residence but if conditions are met another residence could be built on the same property or put inside of an existing accessory building.
The by-law also includes stipulations around parking and access to the additional units.
