“But it will require those people who have not yet received their two doses and their 14 day waiting period. You know, to have that done by the end of November, November 28th.”
Pine added, “I think it would be really heartening if all of our employees were fully compliant with the policy, have their two doses. People who work in Long Term Care have to remember that the province has directed that if they do not have two doses by November the 15th they cannot work in Long Term Care anywhere in Ontario, including Hastings County. So for employees in Long Term Care it would be especially wonderful if they could all be vaccinated, have their two doses, by the 15th of November for sure.”
He also said, “To all of the employees in Hastings County who are fully vaccinated, have their two doses, they’re 96.23%, I have to say a really heartfelt thank you for getting vaccinated.”
And for those who remain to get their two doses, he added the following comment.
“Just encourage them to think about the health and, healthy and safety workplace requires them to be vaccinated. And, of course, by doing that you’re also protecting people near you, friends, relatives.
Pine told Quinte News, “It’s just the right thing to do, in my opinion, to help us all get out of the pandemic. We need people to be vaccinated. I’m hopeful by the end of November, November 28th, that in terms of our workforce that we’ll be fully compliant. The science is absolutely solid on this. Being vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and to protect others around you. We need people to be vaccinated so we can all get out of the pandemic.”
He also noted that there is also one policy grievance underway.
