The Special Investigations Unit has confirmed to Quinte News that a man involved in an incident in Clarington Saturday afternoon has died.
According to the SIU the man was involved in a single vehicle accident on Highway 115 north of Highway 407 in Clarington at approximately noon Saturday.
They say there was then “an interaction” between the man involved in the collision and Durham Regional Police during which police deployed a conducted energy weapon at the man.
The man suffered critical injuries and was taken to hospital where he remained in critical condition until he was pronounced dead at 2 a.m. Sunday.
The SIU is investigating.
