Bay of Quinte area municipal councillors will be getting out this month to support the Humane Society of Hastings Prince Edward’s capital campaign.
The capital campaign is in support of the new facility being built at 34 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road.
To help drum up support Belleville Councillor Kelly McCaw and Quinte West Councillor Leslie Roseblade, both HSHPE board members, will be going door to door in local neighbourhoods.
The councillors will hit the streets in Belleville and Quinte West every Saturday in October from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. flanked by other volunteers and rescue dogs to spread the word and tell people about the new facility but will not be collecting donations.
The Johnston-Martin family has agreed to match October donations to the capital campaign up to $50,000 in what has been dubbed the Jasper and Samson Matching Campaign, named after their beloved dogs.
