There’s lots going on in Brighton today, with a series of pop-up events to try and keep alive the spirit of Applefest.
The annual celebration was cancelled in its traditional form, due to COVID-19, but the local Lions Club, Kinsmen Club and DBIA have put together some smaller-scale activities to mark the occasion.
A free pancake breakfast, with donations to a local family, will take place behind the CIBC from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a fly past from CFB Trenton aircraft and music in Memorial Park beginning at 11 a.m.
Various other musical acts will perform until 3 p.m. this afternoon.
The day also features a hot dog BBQ, also in the CIBC parking lot, from noon to 2 p.m.
Anyone headed to downtown Brighton is encouraged to check out the many shops and other amenities, with sidewalk sales being offered.
Of course, COVID-19 protocols will be in place and anyone attending is asked to follow those.
