Bail Violations
On September 20, 2021 at 3 p.m., Belleville police were called to an address in the east end of the city regarding a male who was breaching court-imposed bail conditions regarding a number of outstanding domestic charges. The male was no longer on scene when officers arrived. At 6 p.m., an officer observed the male travelling in a taxi and he was arrested. The 38-year-old Belleville resident was charged with three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions. He was held for a bail hearing on September 21, 2021.
Pursuit leads to charges
On September 21, 2021 at 1:55 a.m., a Belleville police officer on general patrol attempted to stop a vehicle in the north end of the city. The driver refused to stop and continued at a high rate of speed away from the officer. Another officer nearby successfully deployed a spike belt causing the vehicle’s tires to deflate. The vehicle eventually came to a stop and after a short foot chase the driver was arrested. The 39-year-old man, a Whitby resident, is charged with Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, Flight from a peace officer, Operation while prohibited x 6 and breach of probation. The driver is being held for a bail hearing on September 21, 2021.
