There were six new cases of COVID-19 reported in Hastings and Prince Edward counties today.
The update included Saturday and Sunday.
Five of the six infections were found in unvaccinated people and there are now 28 active cases in the two counties after nine people recovered.
One person remains in intensive care at BGH.
The new cases were spread out, located in Quinte West, Belleville, Prince Edward County, and central and north Hastings County.
Seventy-six percent of Hastings-Prince Edward’s population 12 years of age and older have been fully vaccinated and 85% have received at least one dose.
In Northumberland today, six new cases were reported by the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit.
Six cases are active.
