Seven new cases of COVID-19 are being reported in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties today, along with four recoveries, for an active total of 31.
HPE Public Health says six of seven new cases were found in unvaccinated individuals, with one fully-vaccinated person also testing positive.
Five of the new cases were found in Belleville, with two in Quinte West and the transmission cause of all seven new cases is still pending.
There is still one person in hospital in the ICU due to the virus and one ongoing outbreak.
The area’s full vaccination rate has ticked up slightly, with 76% of residents 12 and over having both shots.
Eighty-five percent have had at least one shot.
No new cases were reported Friday in Northumberland County.
The Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge Health Unit says two cases remain active.
