Recoveries doubled the number of new cases of COVID-19 being reported by HPE Public Health Thursday.
The health unit says there are four new cases and eight recoveries, leaving a total of 28 active.
One person is in hospital, in the ICU, but not on a ventilator and there is one ongoing outbreak in the region, at Caressant Care in Centre Hastings, which has been attributed to 12 cases of the virus.
Of the new cases reported Thursday, all four were found in unvaccinated individuals, with three new cases in Belleville and one in North Hastings.
One of those new cases has been linked to close contact, with the transmission cause of the other three cases pending.
Eighty-five percent of residents aged 12 and up in HPE have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with 75% fully vaccinated.
The numbers for Northumberland County from the Halburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Health Unit haven’t yet been updated, but there were two active cases there as of Wednesday.
