The City of Belleville will continue the tradition of marking the anniversary of 9/11 this weekend.
A special ceremony will be held at Fire Station #1, to mark the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 that killed nearly 3,000 people from 93 countries, including civilians, emergency personnel and military members.
The service will begin at 8:35 a.m. this coming Saturday, with a procession, speeches and moments of silence to mark when both towers at the former World Trade Centre were hit by hijacked airplanes.
Capacity for the event will be capped at 100, to follow COVID-19 protocols, with anyone attending asked to wear a mask and to either park at the VIA Rail station, or on the streets surrounding the Bettes Street fire hall.
