A Belleville man faces an assault charge after a security guard was punched in the face near Belleville’s homeless shelter early Sunday.
The incident occurred at 8 o’clock in the morning near Grace Inn on Church Street.
Issac Richmond, 41, was arrested.
In other Belleville police news a local man was warned about his yelling after reports someone was screaming for help near the Moira River near College Street East.
Upon investigation a man said he wasn’t calling for assistance but was practising his “dinosaur calls”. The Belleville Fire Department also responded.
That incident occurred at 9:40 Sunday night.
