The Quinte West OPP has charged an individual following a complaint of a possible impaired driver.
On July 30, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a business on Dundas Street East in Trenton after a complainant reported someone almost struck their vehicle. They also stated that the driver got out of their car and was holding a beer. Officers attended, located the driver, and detected signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside screening test was administered, and as a result the driver was arrested for impaired driving. Following a search, a quantity of suspected cocaine was found in their possession. The accused was transported to the Quinte West OPP detachment for testing where blood alcohol levels were determined to be in excess of the legal limit.
Bruce SIQUIN-DIAZ, 25 years old from Montreal has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 12, 2021.
