It’s a return to double digit active cases for Hastings Prince Edward with the local health unit reporting eight new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.
There are now 10 active cases.
There has been one recovery since the last report on Friday, July 30.
Four of the new cases are in Quinte West and four in Central Hastings.
The Hastings Prince Edward Public Health dashboard shows four of the new cases are also individuals 18-years-old or younger.
Four of the cases are outbreak-related.
Two others are attributed to close contact and the causes of the other two cases are pending.
The health unit reports six cases of the virus have been linked to an active outbreak resulting from a party on Hearns Road in Frankford on July 24.
It is the first outbreak in the area since May.
No one is in hospital at this time.
Sixty-six per cent of local residents age 12 and up – more than 98,000 people – are fully vaccinated with 81% of residents having received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reporting one new case today and seven active cases.
