The City of Belleville has laid out the criteria for its two cooling centres this summer.
There will be cooling centres at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre and at the Belleville Public Library.
Anyone needing relief from summer heat can go to either location when they are activated, to get away from the sun.
The criteria for activation of the cooling centres is two consecutive days of 30 degrees Celsius and/or 35+ degrees Celsius with humidity.
If those parameters are met the cooling centres will be activated from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cooling centres will be operating with COVID-19 safety guidelines including mandatory mask wearing, physical distancing, extra cleaning and visitor screening.
There is also security on site.
