The Conservative Party of Canada has given the nod to a Centre Hastings resident, financial advisor, and former Town Councillor.
Shelby Kramp-Neuman will be the federal candidate for the next election for the riding of Hastings Lennox & Addington.
On Wednesday June 23, the party announced the closure of the application period for candidates as Friday June 25.
There are no other known candidates who submitted other than Kramp-Neuman.
She is a married mother of two, who calls Madoc home. Kramp-Neuman is a Financial Advisor for Sunlife in Belleville, and a former Deputy Mayor of Centre Hastings.
Kramp-Neuman went to Centre Hastings Secondary and studied Political Science at the University of Ottawa. She has also worked at Loyalist College, Global Affairs Canada, as as a Legislative Assistant on Parliament Hill.
She is the daughter of longtime politician Daryl Kramp who is currently the MPP for Hastings Lennox & Addington.
Earlier this year Kramp-Neuman ran to be the candidate for the Bay of Quinte riding, but lost to Ryan Williams.
Former educator Eric Lorenzen will act as Campaign Manager. Lorenzen was the Campaign Manager for the Conservatives in the 2019 election with Derek Sloan.
Sloan was removed by the Conservative caucus earlier this year, and is currently sitting as an Independent M.P. for Hastings Lennox & Addington.
He will be seeking re-election as an independent.
The Liberal Party of Canada has announced that Mike Bossio, who was M.P. from 2015-2019 is their candidate for the riding.
Kramp-Neuman will make an official announcement Monday (July 5) at three locations in the riding: Napanee, Corbyville and L’Amable.
