Plans are in the works by over 30 students at East Northumberland Secondary School to hold an outdoor celebration instead of a formal indoor graduation ceremony.
The students hope to hold separate outdoor socially distanced events during the summer at Memorial Park in Brighton’s downtown.
The student organizers have asked for Brighton council’s support and Mayor Brian Ostrander says they’ll get it.
“Council has asked our staff to proceed in supporting that if public health protocols permit it and quite frankly I look forward to be able to be on stage and congratulate those graduates.”
The ENSS students also hope to hold a prom parade during the summer.
