There are reports that a medical clinic in Apsley has been closed after threats were made against a doctor and staff.
Global News Peterborough is reporting that the North Kawartha Health Centre is closed, after someone allegedly emailed the Burleigh Street clinic and threatened to shoot Dr. Paul Hasson and his staff.
There is no word yet on when the clinic may open again, but the email is encouraging anyone who has been affected by the closure to contact Peterborough Police, to emphasize the impact it’s having on the community.
Peterborough Police did put out a release on Monday afternoon saying a 57-year-old woman had been arrested and charged with uttering threats in connection to incidents in Peterboough and North Kawartha Township and that the investigation is ongoing.
