Loyalist College students and the college student-run news service have received honours recently.
Six of the college’s 2020 graduates placed first in three-of-four Ontario Community Newspaper Association awards categories.
In addition, QNet News, the college’s student-run news service, was named Best College/University Newspaper Website.
The 2020 Better News Competition received 1450 entries.
In a media release, Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, Loyalist College President and CEO said, “We’re proud of our remarkable award winners and the caring faculty and staff members who’ve guided them in their applied, work-integrated learning journey.” “Loyalist College has always been the destination for Media Studies students to learn directly from the industry’s best, and in our all-platform Digital Media Centre newsroom, they’re publishing their own work through QNet News, and applying their skills during an on-the-job placement.”
