The August 29th race day included Fan Appreciation, Mini Van races, and the BSP Kart Klub Demo, all presented by Anson Construction and Campbellford Chrysler.
First Timer Wins the Gord’s Water Vantastics
The 10-lap Vantastics Feature was led to green by No.97 Uncle Kevin Gregory and passenger Brody Gregory. To their outside were No.16x Dawson Evans and passenger Megan Evans.
The green flag dropped, and No.97 Gregory gained a solid lead over the pack. On lap three, No.2, piloted by Ty Gauvin and Jacob Moville, took over first position from No.97 Gregory.
On the back straight, No.16x Evans held the fourth position before spinning out and crashing with No.22 Tyson Gregory and Cameron Knox on lap five. The crash brought out the red flag as a precautionary measure.
The field went green again with No.2 Gauvin still in first position. The race was smooth sailing from there, Gauvin sailed past the checkered flag completing his first Vantastics race with huge success!
No.2 Ty Gauvin and passenger Jacob Moville finished first, followed by No.18 Carter Rhodes and passenger Niek Sullivan in second, and No.97 Uncle Kevin Gregory and passenger Brody Gregory in third.
Sandercock Takes Another Win
The Vanderlaan Building Product Late Model division saw fourteen cars take the track for their 30-lap race. Starting on the pole was No.11 Kyle Sopaz, in second No.09 Mat Vanderlinden, in third No.05 James Seymour, in fourth No.77 Caley Weese, and in fifth No.07 Curtis King.
Sopaz fired first with Seymour close behind. Seymour was able to take the second spot from Vanderlinden on lap one. No.3 Nathan Rinaldi was also able to make some passes, as he secured the fourth spot in lap one as well.
Lap eleven saw No.57 Charlie Sandercock make his way into the top three, taking the third spot. Sandercock continued to battle through, passing Seymour on lap fourteen and then Sopaz on lap fifteen.
No.46 Brandon Mowat came up from the back of the pack to secure the second spot on lap twenty-one. Sandercock held strong and was able to take another win.
The race finished with Sandercock in first, Mowat in second, No.5 Steve Baldwin in third, Rinaldi in fourth, and Seymour in fifth.
Rhodes, Gregory, and Anderson Battle it Out
The 20-lap Brighton Automotive Thunder Stock Feature began with No.26 Brock Gregory in first position, No.10 Carter Rhodes in second, No.22X Brandon Gregory in third, No.18 Kyle Anderson in fourth, and No.16 Kaitlyn O’Blenis in fifth.
The field went green, and Rhodes was able to snag the top spot from Brock Gregory. The pair raced hard, with Gregory trying to find a way through, and Rhodes trying to fend him off.
Lap ten saw Gregory take over the first position, but Rhodes was able to take it back the following lap.
In a turn of events, Anderson took over second from Gregory on lap fourteen. Then on lap fifteen, he took first from Rhodes. Anderson led the field for two laps before Rhodes got the best of him on a caution flag restart.
Rhodes finished the race first, followed by Anderson, Gregory, No.72 Doug Anderson, and No.44 Tommy Bailey.
Another Gregory Dominated Feature
The 15-lap Bill’s Johns Mini Stock Feature race was brought to green by No.46X Dion Riley. No.37 AJ Peeters started second, followed by No.22 Keith Dunk, No.22X Tyson Gregory, and No.5K Matt Knowlton.
Riley held a strong lead for the first ten laps of the race. Meanwhile, No.1 Coleson Gregory and No.97 Kyle Gregory made their way through the pack.
On lap eleven, Riley was sent to the back for causing a restart, and Tyson Gregory became the leader with Coleson Gregory behind him in second. Kyle Gregory was behind in fourth but made the pass for third on the last lap.
Tyson Gregory secured his fifth win of the season by winning the feature. Coleson Gregory finished second, Kyle Gregory finished third, Knowlton finished fourth, and No.3 Doug Butler finished fifth.

A 1/3rd mile clay oval, Brighton Speedway is in the municipality of Brighton on the shores of Lake Ontario. Opened in 1967, the Speedway hosts five divisions on a weekly basis, beginning on the first weekend in May and ending on the first weekend in October. With two travelling series, the Lawns We 360 Sprint Cars and the Vanderlaan Building Products Northeast Late Model Division calling Brighton home, other series visit the track each season to impress the fans and challenge the tight turns on the dirt track.
