Officials with the local health unit are urging patience as the provincial COVID-19 vaccine booking system opens to all residents 18 or older on Tuesday.
Anyone who turns 18, or is older than that this year, will be eligible to book online or by phone (1-833-943-3900), but Hastings Prince Edward Public Health says it can only give out as many vaccines as the area receives.
That means, just because you’re eligible to book, doesn’t mean you’ll get an appointment right away.
New clinics are being added frequently, so if you can’t get an appointment, you should continue to check the online booking portal or register on the HPE Public Health standby list.
In the meantime, the health unit is asking everyone to follow the public health protocols that are in place and to isolate from others if you’re feeling even mild COVID-19 symptoms.
