Quinte West OPP officers have been cleared of any wrongdoing after a man was injured while being arrested in a domestic incident in Trenton in November of last year.
The man, 22 years of age at the time of his arrest, was trying to get away from police when he tripped and fell.
He was arrested by police while hiding in a backyard and then complained of a sore foot. He was taken to hospital and found to have suffered a fractured heel.
Because of the injury the province’s Special Investigations Unit became involved but SIU Director Joseph Martino says its investigation concluded there were no reasonable grounds to believe police had committed a criminal offence.
