If the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board agrees, some major mechanical upgrades will take place at seven of its schools in the coming months.
The Board’s Committee of the Whole recommends that just over $3 million worth of mechanical projects be undertaken at Deseronto, Massassaga-Rednersville, Trenton’s Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, Tyendinaga, and V.P. Carswell public schools.
Three contractors are being recommended for the work, Strong Bros., Ferguson Electric, and Beacon Construction.
Upgrades to the roofs of ten schools under the jurisdiction of the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board could be completed before the end of the year.
At its April 26 meeting the school board will be asked to approve almost $4 million worth of roofing projects at the schools.
If approved, the schools getting the upgrades would be Centre Hastings, Eastside and Centennial Secondary schools, North Hastings High School, Prince Edward Collegiate Institute, and Bayside, Coe Hill, Hermon, Massassaga-Rednersville, and Sophiasburgh Central elementary schools.
Six contractors are being recommended to complete the work.
