The Belleville Police Service responded to 73 calls between April 19, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. and April 20, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Bail violation
On April 19, 2021 at 9:26 a.m., police executed an arrest warrant on a female who was wanted for failing to attend court. Angela Evelyn Elizabeth Nolan, 30 years old of Belleville, was arrested and taken into custody on Bridge Street West. Nolan was released a short time later on a Form 10 undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 20 in relation to the charge.
Disturbance call leads to arrest
On April 19, 2021 at 6:32 p.m., police were called to a Coleman Street address for a minor disturbance. The initial investigation resulted in the disturbance call being cleared without incident, however an involved man was arrested and taken into custody from an earlier occurrence. Police charged Tyson Anthony Nicholas Gordon, a 31-year-old man from Marmora Ontario, with the offence of taking a motor vehicle without consent. Gordon was released from custody on a Form 10 undertaking with conditions, and is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on May 20.
Domestic lands man in jail
On April 19, 2021 at 9:20 p.m., police were called to a home in the northwest portion of the city regarding an assault. Further investigation led police to arrest a man in the home. He was taken into custody, and is being held for a show-cause hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on April 20, 2021. The 32-year-old city man is facing charges including two counts of assault, mischief under $5000 and criminal harassment. Police are not releasing the name of the man in order to protect the identity of the victim. The victim was treated at Belleville Hospital for facial cuts and released.
