The City of Quinte West is standing by the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Hastings Prince Edward County Public Health.
At Monday night’s meeting, council supported a resolution by Dr. Piotr Oglaza, requesting that vaccines stay in the area.
The province is getting set to take 25% of local doses to hot spots across the province.
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison.
“Dr. Oglaza has worked hard and so has the Hastings Prince Edward Health Unit. So the fact the province has removed 25% of our vaccine doses is very, very upsetting to Quinte West Council. So we’re asking our MPPs to help reconsider that change. We want those 25% back.”
It is not known how much that will affect already booked appointments, and future availability.
